The Hatching

I drew this in.... maybe 2 days? It was a last minute piece that I really wanted to get done for my final presentation. My professor ended up liking it a lot and mentioned something about it being "abstract" (....like between the shape of the wing and egg...) and saying it was an improvement and such. This is where I admit that I am not much of an art student, and therefore need to do a bit of research into this "abstract" thing. We started talking about Georgia O'Keeffe, so I've got a vague idea to work with.

Anyhow.... Um. Draconis cristatus hatching... Yep. The leaves there serve as compost to keep the eggs warm during the incubation period.
